International Fortnight Abroad

A study held by the University of Miami dedicated to meticulously analysing Miami's cultural diversity through the scope of global issues like local neighbourhood gentrification, climate change repercussions, Latin-American migration patterns, and the various representation of minorities in American communication platforms. The project resulted in in a detailed article and short film publication.

“The feeling of unity in Little Havana is found in daily conversations, interactions and in the stories of all the people that founded this destination as it’s known today”

“La Casa de los Trucos is an iconic Miami institution. We took a look at its intergenerational history and discovered the ways it contributed to Little Havana as we know it today”

“Family unity is the most important thing. It seems that nowadays that unity no longer exists. People seem to prefer a gun over a dance. What else can I say?”

Televisa/Univision

During our time abroad, our team had the privilege to visit historical landmarks like the Miami-Dade Black Archives, Little Haiti, Eighth Street and more.

However, the highlight of all visits was the Televisa and Univision Studios. We were able to learn from behind the scenes of the studio of “Buenos Días América” during a live broadcast and could witness all the work and effort behind multimedia production.
